Why is it that PADI instructors doesn’t always listen to their customers?
Today we learnt that when a customer asks us if we can teach them to dive, they mean just that! They have visions of themselves diving on wrecks or taking underwater photos. They don’t just mean the basic skills of a PADI Open Water Course. The new diver is generally very excited about a new lifestyle that can incorporate a whole range of experiences.
All too often, a PADI Instructor will just ignore what the customer really wants, and just teach the Open Water Course. After that the customer is left with very little choice. The only course that is usually offered is the Advanced Open Water course, despite the fact that there are approximately 20 specialties that they could choose from.
We learned several ways of finding out exactly what our customer would like to do following their Open Water Course, and several ways of giving choices of how to achieve their goals.
This IDC is fantastic, the group is really bonding as a strong team.
Bring on tomorrow!
